Status Definitions
Status Meaning Definition
Active Current Valid and Current: Identifies a document that is currently in use and can be used for the purposes specified within the document.
Not for New Design Valid but Obsolescent Outdated: Identifies a current document that is not recommended for use for New Design. However it can still be used for Older Designs as detailed by the document or publishing Activity/Organization. It may also be needed due to legislative issues.

Cancelled

No Longer Active No Longer in Use: Identifies a document that is no longer current. These documents should be reviewed for possible replacement or superseding documents.

Discontinued

No Longer Active No Longer Being Published: Identifies a document that is no longer being published

Draft

Preliminary Version Preliminary Version: Indicates that a final version is expected to be published. This document should not be cited except as determined by the publishing activities/organizations.
Draft-Obsolete No Longer Valid Draft version is no longer valid: A more current Draft of this document should be available for review.
Inactive No Longer Active No Longer Active: Identifies a document that is no longer active and is provided for historic purposes only.
Non-Current No Longer Active No Longer Current: Identifies a document that is no longer current. Documents are Non-Current should be reviewed for possible replacement or superseding documents.
Obsolete No Longer Active No Longer Being Developed: Identifies a document that is no longer being developed. Documents that have been identified as obsolete should be reviewed for possible replacement or superseding documents.
Pending Pending Approval Used for Bib-Only entries: Identifies documents that are pending approval by the publishing activity/organization and are not yet active.
Revised Replaced / Historical Historical: Identifies a document that has been amended to correct, update, or improve it and is no longer active. A newer version of this document should be available.
Stabilized Not likely to require revision Valid and Current: The document has been reaffirmed at least once and at least ten years have passed since the approval or last revision of the document. The document is required for use in connection with existing implementations or for reference purposes.
Status Not Available Status Cannot be Validated Status cannot be validated: Identifies a document where the status is not available or cannot be validated by the publishing activity/organization. This document is provided for historical purposes only and should not be referenced or cited in official correspondence.
Withdrawn No Longer Active Removed from Circulation: Identifies a document that has been removed from circulation. Documents that have been withdrawn should be reviewed for possible replacement or superseding documents.
